Pregnancy photography in Bristol!

Sometimes I am so moved by my subjects, especially when I do a pregnancy shoot. 

The shoots are always intimate, all the thoughts of the new life, excitement naturally building towards the end of the pregnancy. Today the beautiful Adele came in to choose her images, it was lovely to see her again, especially as her mother is a childhood friend. 

Adele is so brave and beautiful and was pleased that I was going to add a couple of shots to my blog.....

My apologies - I meant to thank you earlier for sending the other photo (I have been extremely busy at work - poor excuse I'm afraid).
Anyway I also wanted to let you know how much we all LOVE the photos and all our friends & family who have seen them so far are so impressed by how beautiful they are. The big photo has been hung near the bottom of our stairs in the hall & as I come down each morning it puts a huge smile on my face.
As I said to you I think your work is truly sublime; beautiful natural images & no gimmicky quirky poses. You have captured Abbie & George so perfectly. I will treasure these photos for years.

Portrait photography in Bristol on a rainy day...

Sometimes my favorite images are not the ones chosen. This is Halle, photographed on a very wet day in Bristol with her two sisters. With bright pink wellies and umbrellas the weather did not dampen spirits. But it was this image, made at the end of the shoot, that I love. It has a fairy-tale quality that gives her a sense of 'otherness'. She is somewhere else in her mind, a hard shot to get with such a gorgeous smily child!

The Miracle of life......

I first met Claire when she joined one of the 'Starting out in Digital Photography' courses that I run. Soon afterwards she called me to say she was pregnant. I photographed Claire and Andy just before Joshua was bern, then again just after.  The first few days of life are so precious - I am so moved each time a tiny baby comes into my studio....  I think (to all the parents out there) that it makes you think of your own children, that feeling of unconditional love.....
Claire and Andy made the long trip from Plymouth recently to have baby Joshua photographed again at 9 months old - I hope you enjoy the following images from the 3 shoots........
